Mullein torches are known as hag sticks , witches candles, Jupiter’s rods, and King’s candles. The energy of Mullein, as a candle in the night, aids and guides through darkness and shadows. Used during spiritual and ceremonial rituals, ancestral work, shadow work, or as a prayer or meditation candle. These candles date back to Greek/Roman times when the flowering end of the Mullein plant was used for practical and mystical purposes, such as lighting gatherings, funerals, and ceremonies. They have a long history with magic and the spirit realm and are ideal for using for Solstice, Samhain and Yule. These Torches are burnt to clear negative energy, illuminate our inner world, process grief and sadness, purify the air, thin the veil, communicate with the dead, see into the other world, and bring spiritual protection. Only for use outdoors under close supervision. Place the torch in a fireproof vessel or drive into the ground or a planter with dirt or sand. Do not use on windy days. Scrape wax from the end of the torch or cut off the tip to light. The candles may have a large flame and burn approximately 5-10 minutes per inch. You may choose to safely extinguish the torch before completion for future use.
